What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
This month is all about Horror and Halloween comics! Happy Spooky Month!
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
The reaping Angel creator : Angelii111
What we know: After a violent outburst at his catholic boarding school, Angel is forced to attend the public school in his small town. With his family’s anger towards him, he tries to law low. This attempt is quickly ruined by what he believes is a call from God, leading him to commit a series of murders against people he believes to be evil. Soon he meets a mysterious boy who helps him unlock all of the town’s dark secrets.
What we love: This is a mature comic for a lot of the subjects the handle, the art style is unique, and the comic is done very well. The story starts as something I think many of us have dealt with in our pasts, like therapy and struggling with life at home. You can easily sit and binge read without noticing you’ve reached the end until you realize there aren’t any more episodes, but there is a new episode every Sunday! It’s on webtoon go over and sub!
To hunt a Vampiress Creator : Aimae-art
What we know : It was supposed to be a simple mission: hunt down a werewolf pack with the teammates assigned to you (which you didn’t want nor asked for), then go home and collect your reward. Helen thought it was going to be uncomfortable at best. It really was supposed to be simple. That is until a vampiress, the monster she hates the most gets involved.
What we love : Another reddit recommendation, it’s well executed well drawn webtoon that should have a much higher sub count for sure, if you’re looking for a spooky vampire action comic, head over to webtoon and sub!
Cobwebs and candles Creator : Cobwebsandcandles.
What we know: Welcome to Monster Manor Lane, a foggy lost street near a remote abandoned town. It is shrouded in mysteries and secrets that have been hidden for years. Secrets that have come calling outward from its eerie borders. What Adventure and thrills await those who answer that call?
What we love: This comic’s story starts on October 31st so it’s perfect for Halloween! The comic just launched so it’s time to jump on board and support this new Creator. From what I read, it looks like a cute, fun and spooky comic. Recommended on Reddit you can read on Webtoon!
Broken Elysium Creator : Colourful Devil
What we know: Judy, an experienced demon hunter, is used to fight off evil spirits. But one mission doesn’t quite go as planned as she meets Ben Turner, a certified priest and amateur exorcist who turns her world upside down. Together with the “Spirit Boxers” they’re about to face their biggest challenge yet, as a dedicated archeologist uncovers a secret that should have remained forgotten…The path to the Garden of Eden.
What we love: It starts with a mysterious and bloody discovery of the Garden of Eden, that’s a big hook to keep you engaged with the story as we go through and meet Demon hunter Judy and her Spirit Boxers, then we get to the Hunky Priest- I’ll tell you a true story, there was once a hunky Priest in this little town in Colorado I lived in, all the women in the Church packed in every Mass to ogle the young Priest I bet they’d have to Confession and do penance for three hundred years to make up for it. And this Priest – Ben, an amateur exorcist would turn the heads of parishioners and non-Catholics alike. I’ve been meaning to read this comic for a long time, and so glad to start reading on NamiComi. Head over and start reading!
