What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Silver cage Creator : BexC
What we know: In a world where being a vampire is outlawed, Yuuto, once an aspiring vampire hunter has become the creature he once hunted. He doesn’t quite fit with the human he was, but also not fitting in with the vampire he has become.
What we love: This supernatural drama was recommended on Reddit. It has a totally unique art style, and a fresh take on what it is like to be an outcast and loner in a society that you don’t fit in to. He wants to be good, in a world that doesn’t trust a vampire to be anything other than dangerous. Check it out on webtoon, go give this little gem a sub.
Boyfriend training 101 Creator : Rotting Royal
What we know: Do you have boy problems? Do you wish your boyfriend treated you right? Fox has the answers for you in this psychological horror comic – the comic does have a disclaimer It is not promoting manipulations or unhealthy relationships.
What we love: This comic just started in early July, so you can get in and sub keep tabs as the story unfolds. The art style begins as drawings ‘lessons in a notebook, very fresh idea. It’s cute and clever, and I can’t wait to see where it heads into horror land. Sometimes the cutest things can scare the bejeebus out of you! You can sub on webtoon.
Swenyar’s Find Creator : Swenyar
What we know: In a fantasy world of Pirates and Princes, our Pirate hero is compelled to join forces with a Prince as battle companions , with one rule, even if they cannot stand one another the two opposites must never leave their companion’s side. The Pirate must put aside his own mission to steal a famous jewel, but does an unlikely thief steal his heart?
What we love: The art is eclectic, and the artist creates comics on her phone. Some scenes are picturesque backgrounds in swirling color, others are manga full color. Set time aside to read this comic, as it is updated by page so there is quite a lot to read and you won’t want to stop. This creator also runs ‘Comic Support’ account on twitter/x, I’ve included a link to it as well, she tirelessly promotes indie comics and relies on donations to keep the promo going. Gentlemen of Chaos Creator : SketchingDarkness
What we know: Set in the early turn of the 20th century, Emilie is part of a family that is not only wealthy but indulges in dark magic. When magic goes wrong the solution is found in summoning a Eldritch Being – unfortunately or him, instead he summons the Prince of the Void , deals are made, but the question is was it worth it?
What we love: It’s a fun and spooky horror story ! Well drawn and well written I couldn’t put it down. It’s dark, but quirky, lots of ‘what the??!!’ – moments with the monsters and demons. You can read it on inkverse!
