What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Hidden experiments Creator : EX-DEN
What we know : Surgical experiments may be the correct word, killing machines would be more fitting. Kids being made into assassins, living everyday as something they were made into. Ever since he was 15 years old, Aspen’s life had never been the same. Everything was a lie, what had his life turned into. He wasn’t alone, but he wanted to be. No one should ever have to go through what he did, but he wasn’t the first one.
What we love : This thriller comic is getting started, the Creator has had some setbacks with illness and such, so there aren’t many episodes yet but there is plenty are art to look at it and I think that we should give some support so this creator can get back on track, because I really think this is going to get really good as it picks up.
Fly Boyzzz Creator : Big Tony
What we know : Eat(bugs). Sleep. Fart. Repeat. Join exterminator’s Big Croaks and Tad as they eat all the infestations!
What we love : I’ve read this series on webtoon and them joining GlobalComix was the opportunity to celebrate with a recommendation!( sadly my WT list is long) This comic is for those who love stoner, guy humor, a little sponge bob, Rocko’s modern life type of silly comedy which I grew up with so I thought this was a hoot to read! It has some adult themes, but most of the time it’s just good silly fun. The Creator has updated the art and character designs from the older episodes, I can’t wait to read and laugh some more. Bro Code Creator : Phantomvibes
What we know : Since the age of 7, Marri and her Brother Andre were separated from their parent’s harsh divorce. Kai Tiffin, Andre’s childhood best friend, gets assigned partners with Marri for a class project. Soon Kai realizes he has fallen for Marri but has to distance himself from her as he doesn’t want to violate the BRO-CODE.
What we love : I think this is an adorable comic, and I love all the cute little funny faces the artist adds into what could be something serious, like this one : 
but it’s so clever that it isn’t a distraction, it adds a nice touch. Well drawn, beautiful colors, a softness to the art that is attractive and the story makes you lose track of time as you keep reading. Great FL Marri, she’s talented, quiet, maybe a little timid and loses herself in her paintings, someone that female Comic Creators could connect with. Still trying to figure out the ML, Kai but that’s the fun in reading this romance comic! I read the series on wt head over and give it a sub!
Please, Close the kitchen cabinets! Creator: Tame Falcon Designs
What we know : April discovered one day that the ghost of a college student had moved into her apartment! Ever since, she has been trying to get used to the ghost’s frustrating habits, like leaving the kitchen cabinets open all the time! Can she finally accept the ghost’s rules or convince him to follow hers? And why did this ghost suddenly show up in the first place? April is about to find out.
What we love: While this comic just started on NamiComi, I really enjoyed the concept and am very intrigued about the Ghost in April’s apt ! I grew up in haunted houses, work for a haunted hotel, but when the kitchen cabinets are wide open it’s one of our kitties (usually Dusty or Gomez!) I’m hoping for more issues soon, check out chapter 1 on NamiComi!
