 Hey, what’s Kanme reading?

Wednesday 04/02/2025

What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all  love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognising the comics we love to read.

Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.

Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:

Tonya :Realm of The Dead  Creator : daiseyberryy

Tonya

What we know : After Tonya died in the girl’s restroom, she was transferred to the realm where the dead go. Feeling that life was so meaningless, she began to pass her time with thoughts of revenge. Five Kingdoms and their interesting stories…

What we love:  It’s a very interesting fantastical take on the hero’s afterlife journey. As the FL Tonya dies at school and goes to a mythical fantasy world instead of the traditional heaven and hell  as one might expect. I like afterlife journeys, I have explored them in my own work, and it’s as old as time to have a hero want to return from the underworld. The story keeps you guessing as it twists and turns, the art is unique and a recognizable style authentic to the comic itself. I checked it out on Webtoon, it updates monthly.

Polaris Sui Generis Creator : Miaoelette

Polaris Sui Generis

What we know :  Nobody knows what happened to our planet, nobody knows its true name, or who built the planet-sized, vast mechanical shell upon its surface. Only the “Apotheoized Operators”, humans enhanced by mysterious bioengineering technology excavated from the shell, can survive the cold and desolate surface world. And now, one young man “blessed” by this power must traverse this wasteland, to deliver his most important cargo to one of the last bastions of humanity.

What we love:  This comic had me hooked, it was a nail biter start and kept on rolling before I knew it I had hit the wall and I’m eagerly waiting the next update. . I really loved the imaginative storytelling in this sci-fi comic, and the art and backgrounds were creative and well done. You can read this comic on several platforms but I read on GlobalComix!

Demon X : Seven Flowers of Sapphire Creator : GrimRxaper

Demon X

What we know :  Xane Morningstar is the son of the Demon King Lucifer. When tragedy sets in his life and he learns that the fate of the Eternal Verse rests in his hands, He and Alphera must join together to save it no matter the cost. Will Xane and Alphera be able to defeat Heaven & Hell and save life as they know it?

What we love:  This was pretty cool. The art is like watching a cartoon too, you got the same sense of motion and atmosphere. I like the OC designs, and I love Demon/Devil Angels stuff too, it’s in my wheelhouse. This is pretty terrific, you can head over to webtoon and see why this comic has 700 subs, but it could use a few more!

Mollie  Creator : Mollie

Mollie

What we know :  Mollie’s upbringing was unique. She’s a 4 inch tall mouse girl who’s lived with a human family for as long as she can remember, never knowing about her true heritage. But a chance encounter with a powerful Runestone in the back of her snack cupboard transports her to a dangerous world filled with magic and other mousefolk just like her. Her journey begins as she makes friends who offer to get her home, and help face the many perils of the world of Haert.

What we love: This was recommended as a hot title on NamiComi, and I thought the cover was intriguing. The story of a little mouse girl from Basingstoke who ends up teleporting to a strange land with fellow talking Mice, except they aren’t mice and they are The Armegg, mousefolk who live on the planet Haert, our little Mollie is a long way from home and no one can solve the mystery of who or what took her away from her family on Earth. The episodes start out a little rough, art-wise but improve in leaps and bounds as you continue reading it.  The story is imaginative and entertaining, this did not disappoint, I urge you to head over to NamiComi and sub to this Hot title!

As always thank you for reading and send me your comics!!
