What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
The Three Treasures Creator : Astro_Mushi
What we know : In Ulgan, wandering tribes and clans battle for supremacy and one of the most secure of those tribes was known as the Kerai tribe, it was considered a small nobility for generations. The Khan’s son being blessed with cloud like hair attracted envy and was besieged on all sides, luckily a new tribe, the Elu, rescued them with the promise of a marriage alliance. It was only after the Kerai khan learned that the Elu khan was blessed with a daughter with eyes like the sky, that he agreed.
What we love: Martial arts Battle manga, in classic traditional page style. Very much reminded me of some comics I read in my youth. The inking was done well, but sadly it hasn’t updated in a while so I hope the Creator hasn’t given up!! Please go to WT and give it a sub !
Tom N Artie Creator : HazeWritesStuff
What we know : Tom and Artie is about two interdimensional best buddy mercenaries from different worlds. Each contract they take is a wildly different zany adventure as they meet strange and interesting characters to fight and trick.
What we Like : A buff unicorn and his little buddy’s adventures popping around the universes dangerous hijinks, and making money which goes faster than they can earn it! This is a fun and clever comedy. Well done professional art, lettering and pages in traditional western style. I should’ve read this sooner! You can enjoy it on GlobalComix!
Abandoned Souls Creator : Eallikee
What we know : This is a journey about a group of freshman high school students helping a ghost find his parents. It’s centered around monsters and supernatural beings and how they juggle this with school life.
What we love : This comic has a quirky art style, and shows improvement with every new post, and it is funny, crazy and weird but also enduring, like with the Ghost Nibidy, crazy like when they were in Class and got to be pirates. I had a good time reading this comic, and you can read it too on Wt!
The Gallington Case Creator : Kasat5u
What we know : Margareth is about to be convicted of a double disappearance, until Detective Oliver takes the lead in the case to demonstrate her innocence.
What we love: This is a comic fantasy mystery wrapped in a police procedural where you have no clear clue who is the good guy and who is bad, or even if the victims are victims. It’s psychological and mysterious. The storytelling is excellent with its dark material and the art accompanies it just perfect. I read this comic on NamiComi!
