What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognising the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Señora Salvadora Creator : Panda and Panda co.
What we know : Pain Train and her partner Priestess decide they aren’t doing enough good in the easy lane and so, against their better judgment, change patrol location to Longfell. These two women will have to do everything they can to make things right.
What we love : This is an unusual superhero tale with a young mother who wants to get back into the dangerous Hero business. The plot was intriguing and kept me reading, while the art is a little rough around the edges I have no doubt it will improve as the comic continues, because it is a really good start to a unique comic. I read it on webtoon.
Witchful Thinking Creator : Human_Bean
What we know : In an attempt to escape her unhappy home life, Amanda decides to enroll in a newly reopened magic school (one of the only magic schools to exist). There’s just one little problem: despite the fact that Amanda descends from two lines of wizards pretty much as pure as it gets and might be as close as it gets to being the perfect girl, she has shown absolutely no actual magic skill in her entire life.
We we love : This silly funny surreal comic had quite a few LOL moments for me, this is a magic wizard school I can fully support! There’s underqualified vampires, unskilled wizards and a Kelpie in a snazzy little hat. The humor is quirky and slightly dark, the art style fits well with the quirkiness of the comic. I discovered this comic in its uncensored version on Comic Fury and had a blast reading it, but for those who want a censored version it is on webtoon too.

The One Unworthy of legends Creator : Kuri_Riri
What we know : Skarlet is a timid scaredy-cat running from her past, Cody is a fresh hero from another world. When these two meet, how will the dice land? A world fresh off the eradication of Slavery, a kingdom lagging a bit behind. When the world catches up who will hold them responsible? A shadow organization with powers reaching across the globe, Conspiracies among it’s members will result in far reaching consequences. When the two sides realize the motives of the other will it destroy them?
What we love : While it only has a couple of episodes up they were really good and captivating. You’re hooked to the very end of each episode. The art team is great and the storytelling is on point. I hope to see more of them in the future! I read this on webtoon.
Afterlife and Death Creator : Lynetticorn
What we know : Life is hard, death is hard. As a specter of death, Koshei’s life is a continual cycle of being summoned and enslaved to the wishes of one fanatical cult after another. Her latest life changes when her latest summoning ritual is interrupted by Daniel and his fellow mages. Although Daniel is killed during the struggle, Koshei finds herself free from her magical servitude. In return for his help, she resurrects Daniel. Together, they must track down the cult and stop their devious plan for the city.
What we love : I was already a fan of this creator’s work, so I added their comic to my library, and as I read it realized on reddit I had given the Creator lettering advice, it’s so true we creators all find each other in the wilds of reddit! I really like this project, the opening was funny, and the art is different from the other comic, but that and the writing has promise of good things to come. I enjoyed it a lot when I read it on NamiComi.
