Figure Skating Comic – Artist (Position Filled)

Applications for this position are closed.

Looking for a comic artist who has experience illustrating action scenes / bodies in motion to illustrate a new original comic about competitive figure skating! Prior knowledge of figure skating is a plus. The tone of the comic will be dramatic, suspenseful, and at times, dark.

Fully remote position. This project will be long-term, so we’re looking for someone who intends to stick with us as the series progresses. Looking for someone who is able to create consistent content (finished chapters) so we can stay on schedule with timely page releases. Comic will also include multiple scenes of competitive female figure skaters performing very technical jumps, spins, and step work—Looking for someone who is open to learning more about the sport to help ensure accuracy in illustration.

Compensation: We will pay you per page and the rate is negotiable.
(We do not intend to do full color pages – either black & white or partially colored that include splashes of 2-3 colors max as small highlights of color.)

To apply: Please email us at kanmestudios@gmail.com (job title in subject line), with 1. a quick bio about your work / resume, any relevant links to your portfolio, etc. 2. attachments of a few different samples of your art, focusing on how you illustrate action and people in motion (something involving a figure skater in action is preferred!) 3. Your desired rate per page. (Please let us know your thoughts on coloring – if you would only illustrate B&W or partial coloring.)
