Hey, what’s Kanme reading?
Wednesday 04/01 /2026
What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
No Joke I’m back! I want to thank everyone for reading the blog, I have been recovering from being sick and our busy tourist season (I work in Hospitality) hit hard this year. Being sick for so long(Super flu/ Covid/ Ear infections) and extremely busy at work sort of crashed my energy for a long time, I couldn’t really do much.
I’m well again and our biggest tourist month is over so things are quieting down which means I can focus on Comics! Comics! Comics!
I should be back in full swing next Wednesday with 4 new comics to recommend but today’s blog I’m going to review fellow Kanme Studio Talent Charlie D Van ‘s Comic ‘Euphoria’.

Euphoria Creator : CharlieDVan
What we know: Twenty-one-year-old Monroe Félix escapes to London on a scholarship in an attempt to leave a longtime abusive relationship with Dave Black. A Cruel man who mentally and physically abuses Monroe. Monroe promised herself she would never love another man, but upon arriving to London, Monroe meets twenty-one-year-old Darcy Hart, a wild party-goer and budding cocaine addict. Their whirlwind romance is complicated by Monroe’s trauma and addiction, as both Darcy and Monroe struggle through alcoholism and increasingly out of control drug use. Monroe finds herself falling deeper and deeper into an abyss-but she is not alone. Darcy is there with her, falling right alongside her.
What we love: In this final story in the Take All You Can universe(sad face), we find an alternative Monroe and Darcy still connecting in this new life, but the battles aren’t exactly the same as they have faced before. It’s a clever retelling of their early romance in a new time period and new location, which adds a freshness to the story being told. While you think it might be predicable, the drama zings you all over the place and it is anything but predictable. The drama dial turned up to 11! Lovers connecting through time and space no matter the odds, and barriers thrown against them is one of my fav literary themes. There are also the heavy subjects of drugs, alcohol abuse, and stalking, that many comics don’t talk about, or show it with the reality that the Creator does. Real enough to not sugar coat it for mass consumption, but also something viewed by the reader at a safe distance. The art style has grown stronger and more unique to the artist than ever before, you will always know it’s Charlie because it’s a one-of-a-kind unmistakable style! While Charlie moves from comics towards Indie publishing with the novel series there will always be me sitting here in hope to see a new Charlie comic coming on the scene that breaks the rules and shatters the generic comic cookie cutter. Due to ongoing technical difficulties with the website Euphoria had to debut on GlobalComix instead of our Kanme website(we’re working on it!) so I read it there!
Thank you for reading!!
I’ll be back next week, as always Show me your comics!
