What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognising the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
PIERCE Creator : Inffinite
What we know: A collision between realms sets off an explosion of chaos. But for how long has that chaos bubbled beneath? After being betrayed and exiled to Earth, Pacifist King Ari survives his days by defending humans from his own kind. But just as things seem to be looking up, a New King emerges from the shadows with plans to destroy Ari… along with the entire Earth.
What we love: A king betrayed and thrown into a world he doesn’t know, it’s a real out of the box style comic. Unique art style that stands apart from the norm on the platform, easily binge-able as the action keeps you reading. The Writer/Artist team has put great care in their comic and it shows, head over to WT and give it a sub.
Sagacious Deific Creator: SNBX
What we know: Hazy and burnt, Ivan awakes outside the rubble of his mother’s house. Memories struggle to coalesce and form coherent images. Raven is an angel, of sorts. Blackened wings and hollow eyes, he insists Ivan was meant to die. Confused, Ivan tries to ignore the otherworldly creature, visible to only him. Forced to accept this new presence, Ivan tries to piece his life together with an intruder over his shoulder. Can the two find out why they are tethered together?
What we love: With 19 episodes you can sit and read the whole thing before the next update. I have always had a place in my heart for retellings of Angels, Reapers, and The Afterlife, this comic delivers. You can see the artist’s art improves as they go along.
The story is intriguing and full of fright and mystery. I read it on NamiComi!
Art N WAR Creator: Jabari Edwards
What we know: This series follows Yoh Ohmaki on his journey for power. In the year 3035 Earth has seen some changes, your status in life is how well you can fight and earn the universal currency of Battle Points. People are able to manipulate the elements and fight with them called Art. Yoh’s life is shrouded in mystery and through each volume answers one more question about his past and possibly finding his father’s killer.
What we love: This battle comic set in the future is an inspiring take on a hot genre of comics and manga. The art is black and white, with great use of screen tones, The art style was already pretty good but improved after the creator took a brief break and has started updating again. I checked out this comic on WT!
Dani The BattleMage Creator : Zag
What we know: Dani the BattleMage! an adventuring warriors who travels the land in search of plunder and a peaceful life inspired by classic sword and sorcery comics of yesteryear
What we love: Recommended to us on our Kanme Studios Discord (come and share your comics!) This comic just started but it’s from a Creator who I’ve reviewed before, their new comic has a lot of promise for adventure and mystery! Great work as usual! I read this over at Global Comix!
