What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Sons Of Plunder Creator: MonstrosityX
What we know: The land is drowning in blood. Lord Flanagan and his men burn villages, steal, and kill without mercy. No army dares to stop him, those who try are wiped out. His warriors follow him, whether out of loyalty or greed. From his war camp, Flanagan sends four scouts on a mission. Their orders? Find enemy weaknesses and report back. But the deeper they go, the more they realize that the wilderness is alive with things that should not exist.
What we love: While I read the Wt version, which only had 6 episodes, then I found the Creator has moved to GlobalComix with spectacular results in a short time and with 12 episodes, and a weekly update schedule, so I will also include the GC link for those who wish to follow the Creator and their story. No matter where you read this comic you will find it an enjoyable experience with killer art and top notch story telling.
Turing’s Antlyakart Creator: Esin Comics
What we know: Welcome to Turing’s Antalyakart (it’s pronounced as /ˈtjʊərɪŋs anˈtaɫjakaɾt/, by the way)! Here are some things you should know: Alan Turing wasn’t a Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock-type guy, Antalya isn’t just beaches and hotels, companies and billionaires usually don’t have your best interest in mind, there are genocides going on, and fascism has been rising in the West.
What we love: This comic has a lot of funny moments, the art style is Alt Comix, which I really like and grew up with. Alt Comix are styles that are unique and varied, an out of the box experience as they don’t follow formulas they allow the artist freedom to truly create without boundaries, as seen here in this fun little comic that does not hold back. and I really enjoyed the 4 episodes currently at GlobalComix. Creator updates frequently so you’ll be able to catch up regularly.
Sic Semper Tyrannis Creator : Sic_Semper_Tyrannis
What we know: In the near future, humanity comes across a ground breaking discovery. The existence of extraterrestrial life on the planet Mars. A cause to celebrate or to stir fear ? So many things are unknown… so many mysteries yet to be revealed. The story follows the paths of Kibo, Hikari and Kuroyami, whose lives turn upside down when they suddenly come across the fate of the world.
What we love: A well done, professional Original grade black and white manga that is a thrill to read from start to finish with great art and visuals and fantastic writing, should have a much bigger audience in my opinion. I read it on Wt but it is also on Medibang.
Savvy? Creator : the.other.z
What we know: Set in the Golden Age of Piracy, this short story follows a mysterious pirate captain on a secretive mission who rescues a girl found adrift at sea. As if she wasn’t trouble enough, more problems ensue in the form of rival pirates and the looming threat of the Spanish Armada.
What we love: I love Pirate films, Captain Blood being my fav of all time. So reading this comic about Pirates from the Golden age was quite the treat! The writing a brilliant, and based on a short story, the art is insanely well done, and I saw some of their merch and the designs are really fun! Read this on NamiComi and you should be reading this beauty!
