Hey, what’s Kanme reading?
Wednesday 08/06/2025
What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Fragments of Forever Creator : DemonicCorvid
What we know: A fantasy PhD student jumps from universe to universe for his thesis. Or, at least, that’s how it started. Now, Valas can’t seem to be able to find his way back home, and a mysterious redhead keeps popping up everywhere he goes.
What we love: This comic has grown since I put it on my reading list! I always enjoy seeing a Creator and Comic grow! From 40 subs to over 800 now! WOW ! This comic deserves it, it is spectacular! The art and writing are on par with professional studios, and we’ll be seeing more of this Creator I’m sure as this is a top notch webtoon! Go and sub!
The Reaper in Korea Creator : Rik uneditied
What we know: South Korea has fallen into darkness after the knocker killer appeared, the FBI and the NSA have sent over 50 of their best agents but now half of them have been murdered. Now a meeting is being held to figure out the case.
What we love: I encourage all comic Creators when it comes to comics, not everyone uses digital or has the means to do so, many do still use traditional means to make comics, and this should be more widely accepted. This comic is hand drawn and colored, with some digital editing/lettering, while not perfect I applaud the Creator for their hard work in making their comic their own way and giving it their all. This murder mystery is just getting started on GlobalComix where you can sub and keep up as the artist grows!
The Rogue Creator : Demun_ink
What we know: The Rogue is a crime-riddled drama series that shows what it takes to push a good-hearted family man to a life of crime.
What we love: I caught this comic on Webtoon, but it is also on GlobalComix and Comcraft (a new platform that is getting out there) They are doing a Kickstarter for issue 2 as well. Traditional style pen and ink art is a little more suited for Western style tastes but it is really amazing work. The story reminds me of hard-boiled dramas you’d read in the 80’s, and brilliantly done. Five parts/episodes make up the first issue on webtoon you should check it out. This team is also behind the comic Dumb Bunnies.
Cold Blooded Cure Creator : Timortien
What we know: Tanner Greene was content being a solo detective, until their boss (and father!) assigned them a new partner. Axel Harris is a country bumpkin with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude, who won’t be put off by Tanner’s icy demeanor. Their first case together takes an unexpected turn when it turns out both the victim and the suspect are dead! Follow them through their investigation as it takes them to seafronts, cults and even a city-wide conspiracy!
What we love: This looks to be a pretty fun comic, a few plot bunnies stood out to me that I wasn’t sure about only because I went through a pulp PI phase where I read a lot of Raymond Chandler and watch a lot of Quincey M.E too <– I’m old LOL! Admittedly procedural mysteries can sometimes be difficult to write when starting out, but this one has lots of heart and hard work so it’s going to do fine. The comic is drawn in a simple black and white style that compliments the comic and storytelling. The cover art caught my attention, and I’m glad I subbed on NamiComi!
Thank you for reading!
Bloggers note : I do apologize as I’ve recently had to change my recommendation policy; I’ve had quite a few comics lately on my TBR list I’ve had to put aside because the Creator stopped the comic with only a few episodes made and can’t be found on other platforms or social media, and some went on forever hiatus. I’ve had to move on from a few on my list. As a creator myself I am slow, very slow at putting out issues, but I am very active on social media where I keep my readers updated on what is going on with me and my comics. I urge Creators if they find themselves having to go the slow mode like me to at least stay active on social media so readers can continue to follow and support your comic until it’s return. I hate to pass on comics that I feel are very good but that never get updated, however I do keep those comics on my list though to check back periodically.
