What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognising the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Loading Love Creator : Jennifer
What we Know: Ha-Yoon, despite her love for gaming, is an excellent student. She was the epitome of what you will call “A perfect student”. But this was until Jiho came into her life and from then on, she got the label “Miss Second Place”. This is how Jiho became her rival, and she was determined to take her place back. Will Ha-Yoon be able to get her place back? What is the reason behind her wanting the first position back?
What we love: It’s a cute comic with some often-serious issues, like overachieving to stave off feelings of being invisible and not good enough. Fun video game stuff too, go over and read on webtoon you’ll be glad you did!
Birth of a New World Creator : Tes Mekonnen
What we Know: Earth has been sold and it is now a corporation. Earth Inc. is the name of this new corporate world. Winner Wright, the wealthiest person in all of history, has become the sole owner of Earth Inc. by way of deceit and he plans to eliminate the citizens whom he deems “losers.” Now, it is up to twin brother, Loser Wright, and his team of superlosers to stop him. Is it too late? Ready. Set. Save the World.
What we love: I was recommended this comic on Reddit. I read the preview episode in full, and thought it was fantastic. I’ve been reading a lot of superhero comics lately and honestly this fits right in! It’s well done with a story that keeps you reading page after page, totally worth the time to check out and read on GlobalComix.
AMP! Creator Elleisfrustrated
What we Know: Bestowed with a terrifying power, Nef must grapple with the responsibility of being a pendulum in a conflict much older than she is. Alongside her friends, she’ll fight back the darkness of those who’d hurt others and deal with the difficulties of being who she is.
What we love: This comic is too cool to be this underrated on WT! How is anyone sleeping on this hidden gem?? The art is awesome, and the story and action is peak. I was pretty blown away after reading the first episode. Please go sub this great webtoon!!
In Memoriam Creator : Blau
What we Know: Mil used to chase mysteries and tales of the supernatural. Not that the aspiring writer believed in any of them, but he was certain every legend hid a more interesting story of how it came to be. That was before disillusionment pushed him into the hollow world of sensationalist writing. Years later, the now disgraced tabloid journalist lies bleeding on the pavement, waiting for the end. But the end never comes. Instead, he wakes in a limbo between life and death, greeted by Amos, a man whose presence unsettles him in ways he cannot yet name. And behind him looms the “haunted” Bellgrave House, a story he once pursued but abandoned, its facade unearthing Mil’s curiosity back from the grave. What truth and what connection might he find there, and what will it cost him to hold onto it?
What we love: This is a pretty cool comic, knock out art and spooky but solid and interesting plot about the afterlife and death. The Creator seems to upload weekly so stop by NamiComi give it a sub!
