What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Update: My regular job has become a lot busier (new system training/rebranding) and so I have a little less time to dedicate to reading/reviewing comics the next few weeks. I want to still promote comics every Wednesday, it’s just that I may be a little more brief than usual in my reviews until I can get through this training so I can get everyone ready for Halloween reading with as many comic treats as possible! Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Dragoness Says Sit! Creator : Fafnir Fenn
What we Know: Flare the Dragoness is tired of humans leaving their sacrificial trash on her doorstep. And she certainly doesn’t want this tiny blue-haired reject… or does she?
What we love: This is a pretty big comic on WT, but the creator just recently promo’ed a classic Halloween Special from 2 years ago. It’s a cute and funny and a little bite sized treat to read if you haven’t read this comic series yet! I put the link to the specific episode, but you can check out the whole series on WT.
The Conquest of the Demon King Diron Creator : MadLad Comics
What we Know: Struck down in a final battle that ended the Demon War, the ancient tyrant Belos awakens seventeen years later, reincarnated as a powerless human boy named Diron Veldryk. Once feared as the Demon King, he now wears the face of an unassuming child,his monstrous powers sealed, his armies erased, and his legacy reduced to legend. What we Love: This Action Manga has some really nice horror elements to it. The prologue was in color, but the 1st Issue is in more traditional black/white, grey tones and paired with the art it looks even better. It is NSFW and has some gore, so sensitive readers might not find it to their cup of blood, but I thought it was fantastic, and the world building/story telling is sharp. I read this on GlobalComix but you can find an uncensored version for purchase on Gumroad.

What we know: Dalton Corvan, a dead troubled youth by the age of 17 finds himself face to face with a being who claims to be death itself. But to Dalton’s dismay the being forces him to endure punishment in the afterlife. Follow Dalton’s journey trapped in the “Domain of Death” as he fights powerful foes, struggling with his new existence as a soul seeking to overcome the adversity brought on by his past.
What we Love: A fascinating tale about a dead teen who is exploring the surreal landscapes of Death and the afterlife. The art is pretty epic and well worth heading to WT to binge read!
The Stranger’s Fable Creator : rysacz
What we know: Shattered stained glass and the drumming of heartbeats.
What we Love: An Action thriller still fits in very well with Spooky month. I was pretty blown away by the art style immediately. It was an Editor’s Choice and Hot title on NamiComi and I can see why!
