What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
It’s a short one this week as I have been dealing with a lot at work and I won’t have a blog post on the 7th. I just needed a little break, so the blog will resume on the 14th!
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Eternal Balance Creator: Lisa Raa
What we know: In a subterranean city on the brink of collapse, Adrian, a brilliant, arrogant scientist, is the only one who can fix the dying survival systems. But as his calculated world is invaded by haunting visions, sinister shadows, and an enigmatic girl, the line between reality and madness blurs. Is his own mind turning against him… or is there a presence defying all logic that he has to face before humanity perishes?
What we love: This comic is a fantastic read, eye catching art and a gripping story that merges fantasy and sci-fi. Into a whirlwind of entertainment and drama. I can see why this comic is growing among webtooners! It’s amazing! I read it on Webtoon, head over and give a sub!
Crescent Blue Creator : KentheNugget
What we know: Long ago, a powerful race of wolves roamed the earth. Capable of immense speed and power, these super wolves were known as the Lunites. And now, millions of years later, a young dog has been gifted with their powers and has risen to protect the world from demons, ancient vampires, tyrannical armies and even….enemies from above. Trouble is…….he’s only 10 years old
What we love: This is a little gem here! It’s drawn so cutely GAH!!! I loved it. It has humor, action and monsters! It’s a 5 star comic! I found it on Inkstra head over and check it out, and the other great comics Inkstra hosts.
Princess of the Steppe Creator : leah Kaine
What we know: In the years of Mongol rule, a prince of Rus’ bargained his firstborn, Marya, to a forbidden god for a land no enemy could find. Thirty years on, all three of his daughters have been scattered to the wind, and his only son, Ivan, rules over a slowly dying realm. When Ivan crosses paths with a warlord’s daughter, he sees a chance to save his home, but she brings a doom of her own making. Can love prevail over ambition? Vengeance? Death itself? Updates biweekly-ish.
What we love: We’re sticking with the Fantasy theme with webtoon this week. What can I say about this comic? It’s a fascinating mix of myth and history, Old Pagan Gods losing their kingdoms to a new God, supernatural pacts, and epic drama. I liked that great care was taken in the clothing, and backgrounds giving it pretty close to historical accuracy as they could. Wonderful storytelling and beautiful art. This little treasure is on WT, go head over and sub!
