I want to thank everyone for their patience. I lost my elderly cat of 13 years Oliver last week. The grieving process started before he actually passed, knowing it was coming was very difficult and it was like a black curtain had descended and my mind only wanted to function on a basic living-breathing level. It was difficult to focus on anything creative or enjoyable because I was missing my Ollie. I will have comics to review today, but I have kept it to two just because I am still getting my equilibrium back, again hard to focus. So I was only able to review two comics this week.
Everyone on my Pride comic list will still get their comics reviewed, no worries, just Pride is extended!
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Ghost Banjo Creator: rennyanddonkle
What we know: After suffering a tragic loss, the last thing Felix wants is to be reminded of death… but death won’t leave him be.
What we love: While the subject of death is a bit touchy with me this week, I will say, they do approach it very well in the storytelling. It’s kind of rare to see a comic like this one that hits a homerun from the first panel. Art, Story, all of it is on point, professional and would fit in well with any large publisher or even in animation, and I’m surprised that it hasn’t got more subs, as it’s really fantastic! I read it on webtoon!
Hench Creator: Feathermage
What we know: Desi (short for Despair) is a Henchman for the evil dark lord Lvel. It’s always been her dream to become the most cruel, violent and evil lackey one could ever hope for. The only problem is that they can’t seem to do anything right! When even the hero takes pity on you, what is a henchman supposed to do?
What we love: While this is a larger comic than I normally promote, the Creator sent me the link to promote their comic for Pride month. I will always help a fellow Creator Big or Small, if they come to me. Hench is silly, good fun, and easy to see why it’s already beloved! The art is cute and the writing clever and funny! This new series has 10 episodes, so you have time to catch up and become a fan! Head over to Webtoon!
