What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Sadhu Creator : VSJ.07
What we know: 5000 years ago one sadhu…. of the Indian continent decided to go on a long journey to Antarctica, for his sadhna….and after 5000 years later he awaked in the present timeline.
What we love: This ambitious comic has a strong vision and plenty of room to grow, so I’m hoping more episodes are on the way. It’s rare hand drawn art that stands out, ash can style with digital art and lettering elements added throughout the episodes. Although it has a rough start, the creator’s direction is clear, making it well worth continuing. I’m excited to see where it goes next! Check it out on Webtoon and don’t forget to subscribe!
Blue Remedy Creator : Blue Rabbit Comics
What we know: Nick and Friday, best friends and roommates in The City (based off NYC and Philadelphia) are doing their best to find happiness in their daily lives. They finally manage to put together something they can live with when a new person comes crashing into their lives like a meteor- breaking everything they worked so hard to build. Sometimes it takes breaking everything down to build it back better…or, it may be left in ruins.
What we love: I really enjoyed this comic, but it seems to have ended about a year ago on a cliffhanger. If anyone knows where it may continue, or what the Creators are up to please let me know! I binged every available episode on GlobalComix, and the story, characters, and art are all beautifully done. It would be a shame if there were no more episodes because I need closure. Even so, the comic is absolutely worth reading, maybe if enough of us check it out there, it might get revived.
Ashbound Creator : Mha-Yee
What we know:
What we love: It’s a shame this outstanding comic hasn’t received the attention it richly deserves! The art and story are beautifully executed, and with fewer than 100 subscribers, it deserves far more support. Head over to Webtoon and show some love by subscribing!
Ghostwriter –Apocryphal Creator : Nor5tar
What we know: Feeling like an outsider is something many of us can relate to – and in Katja’s case, it’s true.
Banished from her role as a historian of the multiverse and stranded on an unknown planet, she now has to try and figure out how to survive – and maybe if she can figure that out, live.
What we love: I’m always drawn to multiverse stories, anything that suggests there are countless worlds beyond the ones we know or can see. I picked up this comic after seeing it ranked as the #1 trending title on Inkstra’s front page, and I ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting. The story is fascinating, sometimes heartbreaking, and consistently engaging, with artwork that fits the tone wonderfully. All in all, it’s a standout comic with plenty of room to keep growing.
