Hey, what’s Kanme reading?
Wednesday 09/ 16/2026
What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
This week we focus on very small gems, comics that are brilliant but underrated.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:

The Mannequin Creator: PotentialComics
What we know: Welcome to The Mannequin, a Webtoon about exploring other dimensions and the stories that lie within them. Be warned, gazing into the dimensions has a Rippling effect on who we are. The outcome of these ripples is uncertain, but the effects will be genuine. There’s always a story awaiting you. Behind the doors of reality. And even works of fiction can have a lasting effect on the soul. Horsey, Mannequin, and Uroki await you.
What we love: I’m a huge fan of anthology series like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, and I’m a huge fan of this comic! The artwork is amazing, and the stories are incredibly thought-provoking, diving deep into the best and worst of human nature. It delivers everything! The twists, turns, monsters, and a perfect touch of humor. Even if you don’t normally read anthologies,(you should though!) you need check out this little gem. Head over to Wt and subscribe!

Skullboy Creator : Nefem Comics
What we know: In a world guarded by spiritual warriors called the Gadyen, young Sam Leboi must face dark forces, uncover family secrets, and find his place in the universe. Inspired by Voodoo Culture, Skullboy is a story of adventure, friendship, and self-discovery.Prepare to meet the magical and surreal world of Skullboy.
What we love: I love Skullboy! It’s a delightful mix of action, magic, and charm. It perfectly balances dangerous stakes or dark magic and mysticism with friendship and the want to belong. Plus, a really cute OC and the art style just makes you want to pick him up and squish him in a cuddle! I found this comic on GlobalComix and it’s free to read!

Guilt Tree Creator: Trip1eABattery
What we know: 16-year-old Darya has never understood why anyone would want to return to their childhood. Ironically, she is sent back in time to her most dreaded childhood year, while the only person also sent back is the last person she wants to see. As her anger subsides, Darya begins to see her past in a new light, even wondering if she can change it. But change won’t be that simple, even as a teen in a ten-year-old’s body. | Platonic slowburn + the exploration of how memories aren’t set in stone.
What we love: Was childhood really the easy life, and would you relive it? What if you were forced to? This comic tackles that question in a way you wouldn’t expect. It’s not your average time travel story either, it’s a deep dive into the psychological quirks of human memory and how our brains distort our very own pasts. The layers of the story are brilliant, and the art complements the story with fuzzy, and blurry word bubbles to perfectly match the unreliable nature of the OC’s mind. It’s all so well thought. Head over to WT and add this to your reading list!

Elemental Battle Creator: CreamZone
What we know: A stickman Series showcasing different abilities. Follow the story of “Shadow” as he discover other ability users.
What we love: It’s a comic with stick figures, and yet it was pretty darn compelling. I read every episode available needing to know what was next because this comic is crazy and surreal and pure entertainment. It proves even stick figures can make awesome comics. I read this on Inkstra which is a new platform I am trying to use more frequently. Check it out.

The Fallen Star’s Vow Creator: A. Gece Sayalı
What we know: A star falls. A girl with no past is discovered by pirates. Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Kantras introduces a lethal weapon to the world: black powder. To survive, the pirates must steal this new invention, and face the ancient power awakening within the girl.
What we love: I already had this comic on my Wt reading list, so I was excited to find it on NamiComi too! I’ve said it before; I love pirate stories! This one has everything you’re looking for! There’s high seas Action, adventure, and mystery. The art is striking, beautiful, and wonderfully unique. If you enjoy pirate stories, check it out on NamiComi and give it a follow!
Thanks for reading!
