What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Demon Guy Creator : Wiltlock
What we know : Regular College Guy Adrian’s life is disrupted when he’s transformed into Demon Guy- half demon, half guy! A demon hunting superhero. Now that the whole campus knows about it, what kind of absurdity will Adrian have to face?
What we love : Caught my eye on Namicomi! So glad I started reading this fun comic. Great comedic writing, and well drawn. It’s clever and has a lot going for it, I laughed a lot and I think the Demon “Daddy” Marley is adorable for a work a day demon. I highly suggest subbing at Nami!
Misfitz Clubhouse Creator :#TeamINSYM
What we know : Weekly updated comic , based on all those wacky Saturday morning cartoons we all used to watch, join our four friends, from that clubhouse on that wacky cul-de-sacky, whose imaginations are so grand, they might just be changing the world around them!
What we love : I was so into reading that I found myself saying awww… when I caught up to the newest episode and will have to wait a week. This comic is safe to read with your kids, and is really sweet and fun. Reminding me of when I’d watch Rugrats(first run!) and other kids tv shows even if I was a little too old too as a teen, you gotta love cartoons no matter how old and I think you’ll really love these Misfitz! Heck Creator: Ace’s art gallery
What we know : The world is wacky, weird, and most importantly – horrific! Ezra Barragan was living an average life until one fateful Halloween he stumbled upon a cursed costume made from the skin of an archdemon!
What we love : Recommended by GlobalComix and Reddit. Well – What the HECK? This is such a great comic! Another kid friendly comic for kids and teens, but adults will love it too. It has old school Halloween vibes, with plenty of spooky super hero fun. This one is definitely one to watch, it has so much going for it. Get some more views on it! Zodiac World Creator : Kimchi222
What we know : A world where spiritually awakened ones are divided into 12 zodiacs, 4 clans are formed according to the nature of powers; they consist of Water, Earth, Air and Fire. With marriage being prohibited between two clans, the Clan of the Air and Fire members secretly broke the tradition and intermarried. The clans descend into bloody chaos when secrets are revealed.
What we love : This rated teen comic was recommended by Reddit. There’s a lot to work story wise, with more to explore as it continues. It’s often drawn quite cinematic in the way the tale is being told, which I like. While the episodes are short, that made it easier for me to read all up to date episodes. We hope the Creator continues with this comic and also reaches their sub goal on webtoon!
