Hey, what’s Kanme reading?
Wednesday 02/12/2025
What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
LGDY Creator : Ninaverse
What we know : What would you do if you would live in a very peaceful town? But than one day everything changes and you realize that the world you live in isn’t really the kind you knew. The world whole of legends spirits secrets which one Chris Dante and Constella has to slow and deal with mine mystery .The story starts from boy named Thoma who been trapped in object after his death. What happened next? You will see..
What we love: This is a very creative comic, while English is not the Creator’s first language, the story and art is so enjoyable you can ignore the typos. I felt the art was quite like an animated movie, it could translate over to cartoon/ animated series rather easily if the Creator goes into that field. There’s quite a lot to read so head over to wt and sub, and help boost the star rating it is too low!
Beccasaurus and Lynetteicorn Creator : Lynetteicorn
What we know : The unlikely misadventures of two unlikely bestest friends as they try to navigate the difficult tasks of burning water and hanging paintings with no hammers.
What we love: This is a sweet, and funny comic dedicated to friendship. The oddball Beccasaurus and the steady Lynetteicorn help each other navigate the world, whether it’s a battle with a feisty little black cat, a boiling pot of water on fire, or intrusive thoughts that get us all down every so often, there is always a solution found with friends. I read this adorable comic on Tapas and head over and give it a sub!
Angel Azul Creator : Black ink Studio
What we know : Sergio Torres is a mediocre Mexican wrestler with an unimpressive record, but when the orphanage he grew up in is under the risk of shutting down, he decides to leave his home country and move to America “The Land of Opportunities.” Now being an immigrant in a place he doesn’t know, would he be able to make it big and earn enough money to save the orphanage or will he fail and just be remembered as a nobody?
What we love: This wrestling comic had me on edge, and reading episode after episode to see where it goes! I loved that the Creator explained the difference between American wrestling and Mexican wrestling, as well as other aspects of wrestling as a sport. As far as the storytelling there’s action, bloody battles. defeat and drama. I don’t normally read sports comics but this one was great! The art is clean, sometimes sexy and uniquely styled with bright vivid colors .You won’t be able to put it down! I read it at Webtoon.
Broadleaf : Creator : Broadleaf
What we know : When silence breaks, bonds are tested. On Leaf Isle, a remote island somewhere in Canada, a father and son attempt to reconnect during a hunting trip. Meanwhile, two stag brothers clash over a doe, their heated voices echo through the quiet forest revealing a world where every voice has a story!
What we love: I read the free preview pages for this comic, remember even if you cannot afford to purchase a subscription, and remember reading the free preview pages helps the Creator get paid too! But if you can subscribe please do, you won’t be disappointed. From what I read it is an outstanding comic, from art, lettering and story telling it’s professional, original and deserves recognition. There are two stories happening at once, the father and son hunting team and the two bucks who battle over the same doe. It reminds me of the times back when I was a kid, my Parents’ friends would give us deer meat and I just tried not to think about how it came about to be on my plate, my mom who, by the way is now a strict vegan, used to say back then “Who wants Bambi sandwiches?” you just sort of disconnected the connection from hunting to eating this sandwich. Anyway, this is great so far, I read it on Global Comix!
