Caught another bad cold from work (Working with the public YAY!) so I have a blog today. I’m just not firing on all cylinders as I write this, but I did not want to miss another deadline.
What’s Kanme reading? Posted every Wednesday Team Kanme Creatives team is here to get you over the weekday blues because we all love comics! It’s true! And we really love Indie comics. Indies offer the most diverse and fearless storytelling among comics, why? Because we can! We are always inspired by the community around us and we want to start recognizing the comics we love to read.
Every week we’re going to recommend comics we are reading to you.
Our first recommendation from the Team Kanme is:
Cosmic Crush Creator: Omeowcomics
What we know: A love story about a girl who loves space and an alien who loves Earth.
What we love: What a cute and inventive sci-fi comic! The concept is totally original, it’s a super fun read, and the art is pretty darn good too! I had a blast reading this on Webtoon. Go over and give them a sub!
Hiraeth Creator: Hiraeth Comics
What we know: In an era of great suffering, Jael — one of the legendary Druzhniik monster hunters — finds himself taking on a contract to escort the mischievous Lauren to the remote city of Bearmham. What we love: I’ve saved the definition of Hiraeth in my photos since 2021: “A spiritual longing for a home that maybe never was.” This brilliant comic embodies that exact feeling. The story is fantastic, and the clean manga art looks exceptionally professional. Don’t sleep on this hidden gem! Head over to GC and add it to your shelf today!
Freaks of Nature Creator:
What we know: When coming across a meteor containing a powerful substance four animal friends are transformed into anthropomorphic beings with superpowers. now they all have to face the forces of evil such as Professor Oscar and the evil corporation HEX labs.
What we love: Found this fun and inventive comic on Reddit! It has a few rough edges that needs a little fine tuning, but it’s still a highly enjoyable read. Show the creator some love and support them on Webtoon!
Little Charlotte’s Grand Adventure Creator: Tom Rogers Comics
What we know: A fantastical tale of family, friendship, and fighting monsters!
What we love: Finding this comic on NamiComi was such a delightful surprise! The art is adorable, the original character is super cute, and the story is completely charming. Even with the visual shifts between full color and black-and-white, it looks absolutely fantastic. With plenty of content available it’s the perfect easy binge read for a rainy day.
